CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – A most wanted person in Cavite and two other individuals sought by law on Monday were arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in separate manhunt operations in Central Luzon.
CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 chief Col. Grant Gollod said that in Zambales, authorities nabbed alias “Edu,” 44, listed as the no. 5 most wanted person in Cavite.
The suspect was arrested in Bgy. Bulawen, Palauig by joint elements of the CIDG Zambales Provincial Field Unit (PFU), Regional Special Operations Group of the Police Regional Office 3, Olongapo City Police Station 1, and Bacoor City Police Station based on a warrant issued by the Bacoor Regional Trial Court.
“Edu” is facing two counts of violation of Section 6 of Republic Act 8042 or the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995, as amended by Republic Act 10022.
The suspect was taken into custody of the CIDG Zambales PFU.
In Bulacan, a 24-year-old female suspect identified as alias “Zal” was nabbed in Bgy. Mojon, Malolos City for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide with multiple physical injuries and damage to property under Article 365 of the Revised Penal Code.
Earlier, operatives also arrested a 22-year-old student identified as alias “Ubeng” in Bgy. Bambang, Bulakan, Bulacan for two counts of falsification of public documents.
The arrest was carried out by CIDG Bulacan PFU and local police units based on a warrant issued by a Malolos court.
The arrested suspects are set to be presented before the respective courts that issued their warrants.
According to Gollod, the operations were part of the intensified “Oplan Pagtugis” campaign targeting wanted persons in the region.
