AN elderly man who tried to pacify a family quarrel ended up stabbing his own son in Navotas.
The victim, a 35-year-old man, succumbed to a stab wound in the chest.
Prior to the stabbing, the victim’s partner and her cousin were arguing in Bgy. Tanza Dos when the suspect came out of his house and tried to pacify them.
However, the victim told his father not to get involved.
The elderly man, who allegedly felt insulted, went inside the house, got a knife and stabbed his son in the chest.
“Sinagot ako ng ‘anong pakialam mo? Papansin ka pa. Banatan kita eh’. Parang nagpanting ang pandinig ko. Kinuha ko yung panghiwa ng sibuyas, ‘yun na. Hindi na po kasi nabigla din ako sa salita n’ya eh,” the suspect told a television interview.
Responding lawmen arrested the suspect who is now facing parricide charges.
