A ROAD mishap in Tiaong, Quezon before dawn Sunday left three people, including a nine-year-old boy, dead and seven others wounded.
A report to Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) Director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas identified the fatalities as Angelo Palacio, 17; Guillermo Catamco Jr., and Leo Dizon Mintecalbo, 9, all residents of Masbate City.
The three were passengers of a Toyota van driven by Emgee Catalla Compuesto.
The injured were Lenie De Los Reyes Dizon, 52; Eric Atienza, 51; Nasser Fajardo Lominog, 34; Rex Açuña Cañete, 27; Sandy Reyes Flores, 13; Jean Cabacus, 12; and Rosjan Semilliano Pelayo, 3, also of Masbate City.
Investigation showed that the collision occurred at 3:30 a.m. Sunday on Maharlika Highway in Bgy. Talisay, Tiaong, Quezon.
The van overtook a Mitsubishi X-pander driven by Francus Ramos, 56, from Bgy. Bukal, Pagbilao, Quezon.
However, the van collided with the Mitsubishi E-pander then into an oncoming Bicol Isarog bus driven by Anthony Sambrano Nazareno, 34, of Manambag, San Andres, Catanduanes.
