AGENTS of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group recently arrested a resident of Zamboanga del Sur tagged as one of the country’s most wanted gun-for-hire.
PNP-CIDG director Maj. Gen. Leo M. Francisco identified the suspect as Rasid Pangarungan Dalidig alias “Thata,” a most wanted hitman in Zamboanga Peninsula.
Pangarungan has been included in the Department of Interior and Local Government’s list of Most Wanted Person and is the subject of a P140,000 monetary reward.
Members of the Lanao del Sur CIDG Provincial Field Unit, with the help of local law enforcement agents, tracked down the suspect in his hiding place in Bgy. Bacolod Chico in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur around 5:50 p.m. last Friday.
The accused is the subject of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Ali Ombra Bacaraman of the Iligan City Regional Trial Court in Lanao del Norte on February 17, 2022 and another warrant for murder issued by Judge Jaime Caberte of the Molave, Zamboanga del Sur RTC Branch 23 on February 12, 2018.
No bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the suspect.
