FILIPINO households will see higher prices of cooking gas this month.
Oil companies announced an increase in prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) products effective August 1, 2024.
In an advisory, Solane said it would hike the prices of its cooking gas by P0.27 per kilogram effective 6 a.m. on Thursday.
Petron Corporation said its LPG prices will go up by P0.30 per kilogram effective 12:01 a.m. on the same day.
“This reflects the international contract price of LPG for the month of August,” the advisory read.
However, the Department of Energy (DOE) has declared a price freeze for areas declared under state of calamity affected by super typhoon “Carina.”
Last month, prices of LPG also climbed by 55 centavos per kilogram or about P6 per 11-kg cylinder.
