FOUR workers on Thursday died from suffocation inside a fermentation tank at an abandoned fish sauce factory in Obando, Bulacan.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan identified the victims as laborers Rodolfo Tolentino, Michael Lumukso, Eduardo Salomag, and Raffy Felix.
Barangay officer Luis Galves informed the police about the dead bodies of four men inside a tank in an abandoned fish sauce factory in Panghulo in Obando.
Responding lawmen were told by the warehouse caretaker that Tolentino fell while cleaning the concrete tank, with a depth of two meters.
The caretaker sought the help of other workers Lumukso, Salomag, and Felix, who all fail to rescue the first victim because of suffocation.
The three also were suffocated to death.
Personnel of the Obando Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) immediately conducted rescue and retrieval operation.
Police are investigating the incident.
