‘AKYAT-BAHAY’ DIES IN GUNFIGHT WITH COPS IN CABANATUAN

A MEMBER of the “Akyat-bahay” gang  on Sunday was killed while another was arrested by responding lawmen following an encounter in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija

Suspect Bryan Paez alias “Bukol,” an alleged “Akyat-bahay” residing in Bgy. MS Garcia, Cabanatuan City, was killed in a shootout with the police, said a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan by the Nueva Ecija PNP.

Paez’ cohort , Marjon Tojino, 39, of Bgy. MS Garcia, Cabanatuan City, was arrested.

Prior to the clash, police were informed of an ongoing robbery in a house in Bgy. Sumacab Este, Cabanatuan City.

Police mobile patrollers were immediately dispatched and caught the two suspects in the act of stealing properties inside the house. 

The suspects tried to escape by climbing the roof top at the back of the house while firing shots at the responding officers.

Lawmen were prompted to retaliate, resulting in the death of Paez.

Seized from Paez’ cohort was a homemade revolver.
