SENATOR Imee Marcos on Sunday afternoon visited Office of the Vice President (OVP) chief of staff and Undersecretary Zuleika Lopez who is now confined at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) in Quezon City after falling ill.
The elder sister of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. arrived via helicopter at 2 p.m. on Sunday. She boarded a vehicle and was met by fellow senator Ronaldo dela Rosa who escorted her to Lopez’ room.
Dela Rosa and Bong Go are currently accommodating Lopez in Duterte’s absence.
The Vice President left the hospital to check on her children.
Marcos visit lasted for over an hour. She left the hospital and did not answer questions from the media upon her departure.
The female senator paid a visit to Lopez amid the “assassination threat” by the Vice President to her brother President Marcos and sister-in-law First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.
Early Saturday morning, the Vice President said she contacted an assassin to kill the President, the First Lady and Speaker Martin Romualdez if an alleged plot against her succeeds with her death.
The tirade was issued in a press conference at the House of Representatives, where Lopez was detained after being cited in contempt for “undue interference.”
Lopez was hospitalized on Saturday morning after having a panic attack, following the House Committee on Good Government’s order to transfer her to the Women’s Correctional Facility in Mandaluyong City, which she refused to comply with.
