FIVE people died while nine others were injured in an accident on Central Luzon Link Expressway in Tarlac.
Poice said the victims were workers from Caloocan City who were headed to Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.
An investigation showed the driver of a closed van lost control of the vehicle before hitting a fence along the expressway.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of La Paz immediately responded to the emergency call and requested additional medical support from the provincial and city disaster offices, as well as the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
The driver was among the injured individuals who were brought to the hospital for medical treatment.
Investigation is ongoing.
