MOTORCYCLE-RIDING assassins on Saturday night killed a police officer in a gun attack in Pasay City.
Slain was Police Staff Sergeant Jomar Caliguiran, 39.
Two bystanders, aged 31 and 64, were injured after they were hit by stray bullets during the shooting. They were brought to the Manila Adventist Medical Center for treatment
The incident occurred on Taft Avenue corner Primo Mayo St., Pasay City at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Caliguiran was on his motorcycle in front of an establishment when shot by one of the suspects.
Despite wounded, the cop managed to fight back.
The gunman fled on a motorcycle driven by a cohort after the shooing,
Witnesses rushed Caliguiran to Pasay City General Hospital, where he was declared dead at 8:35 p.m. of the same day.
An investigation is ongoing.
