POLICE arrested one of four armed men allegedly involved in robbing the house of a female vlogger in Bocaue, Bulacan.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, the Bulacan police said robbed was the house of Daisy Cabantog also known as Madam Inut, at Villa Zaragoza, Bgy. Turo, Bocaue, Bulacan.
Initial probe showed four armed men wearing black jackets and masks barged into Cabantog’s house and took the victim’s personal belongings, including jewelry and cellular phones, worth at least P1.6 million.
Members of the Bocaue police, in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit, through backtracking were able to identify the suspects’ getaway vehicle, further revealing that the same vehicle had reportedly been linked to similar robbery incidents in Parañaque and nearby provinces.
Two suspects were positively identified by the victim as alias “Panta” and alias “Porca,” both of Tanay, Rizal.
Authorities also traced the location of the stolen cellular phones to areas in Bocaue, Sta. Maria, and San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
Officers gathered information that relatives of one of the suspects are residing in San Jose del Monte, prompting further surveillance operations.
A breakthrough came on February 28, when police monitored a Facebook post allegedly made by a certain “Jose Maria Corpuz” offering a reward for the return of a “lost” vehicle plate — the same plate used by the suspects’ getaway car — earlier recorded to the Tanay police.
Police personnel then posed as the individual who had found the license plate and arranged a meeting at the Tanay Police Station.
Accompanied by victim-witness and a police team led by Capt. Ferdie Santos, they proceeded to the meeting location.
Upon arrival, the victim-witness positively identified alias “Porca” as one of the four robbery suspects, prompting the cops to arrest the suspect and are continuing operations to locate and arrest the remaining suspects.
Mendez commended the operating team for the immediate arrest of one of the suspects.
“We urge he public to remain vigilant and report any information that may assist in the capture of the remaining suspects,” the Central Luzon top cop said.
The official added that they are investigating the alleged connection of the group to other robbery incidents in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
Cases for robbery with intimidation and violation of firearm-related laws were filed against the arrested suspect.
