POLICE Brig. Gen. Hansel Marantan is the new acting regional director of Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon).
Marantan on Tuesday officially assumed his post in a ceremony held at Camp Vicente Lim, Calamba, Laguna.
Calabarzon covers the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon.
Marantan replaced Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas who was named as the new director of the PNP’s elite Special Action Force (SAF).
Taking Marantan’s place as director of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) is Brig. Gen. Jessie Tamayao, the current executive officer of the Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR).
The revamp was triggered by the looming retirement of outgoing SAF director Maj. Gen. Mark Pespes.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.’s reshuffle directive took effect on Monday.
