A FIRE on Thursday night hit a residential area in Pasay City leaving two persons dead.
The fatalities were an 80-year-old bedridden man and his 37-year-old daughter. They were trapped inside their burning house.
An investigation showed the fire broke out around 5:59 p.m. at a community on P. Villanueva St., Bgy. 85, Pasay City.
The blaze immediately spread to the houses made of light materials.
Village officials said the daughter returned to the house upon learning that her bedridden father was left inside.
Both the father and her daughter failed to come out of the burning house.
Responding firefighters found difficulty putting out the blaze due to narrow streets.
The fire, which reached second alarm, was declared under control at 7:18 p.m..
Some 50 families affected by the fire are temporarily sheltered at the Jose Rizal Elementary School.
An investigation is ongoing on what started the blaze.
